Knowledge from Silesia Knowledge from Silesia is a platform for the Silesians invited along to swap ideas and share their know-how. The artist issued this appeal in a few local newspaper: ‘Share your expertise with me! If you feel that what you do is extraordinary, exceptional and worth showing to others, get in touch. This could be anything at all which you consider in any way useful. For my part, I will do everything possible to learn your skills and pass them on. Show others what you can do! Show others what Silesia has to offer! To get to know the Silesians better and find out what makes them tick, I've decided to get together this project with their participation. I don't want to act like an artist, someone who makes value judgments or lectures others, entering into a stereotypical teacher-student relationship, based on a hierarchical authority rather than mutual respect. I would like to reverse the relationship and become someone who learns from others.' Some of the skills the Vakula learned were how to make tea, prepare low-salt cucumbers in brine, perform magic tricks, do physical exercise and ballet.
