"DIY Tractor Show" (2013) W"DIY Tractor Show" (2013), With a little bit of humor, documents folk knowledge and creativity of Slovak countryside. Independent, self-made products, in the past so typical of the post-communist region are now slowly dissipating from Slovak villages. This photography series is trying to document them before they disappear forever. All of this tractors are self-made by the villagers and aid their everyday jobs. Some of them are freelance drivers for hire. They are very proud of the tractors so much they even put up a competition. They compete in two disciplines. For the fastest tractor and the most beautiful one.
This piece is part of a larger group of projects trying to either record or work with the DIY (Do It Yourself) movement, which often stands in opposition to a mass production of the society.
